There are many legal problems with social networking. From various forms of harassment, bullying or even racism. There are laws in place to protect from this, however one of the problems is the speed with which this can be delivered to vast amounts of people. Individuals think that they can hide on the internet and therefore feel that they do not need to be held accountable for their actions. Some take sadistic pleasure in attacking innocent victims, the internet Trolls. Individuals with large followings, owe a duty of care to their fan base to act with a certain degree of responsibility. Unfortunately their own reputations can come under attack from malicious slander. Legal action is required to ensure that comments are retracted and where it is due compensation is awarded.
